Just like you were as a padawan? [He knows how it works.] At least that gives us a goal on the side. Finding a good method of communication that doesn't get anyone in trouble. If either of us were strong enough, we could do it through the Force though I don't know if anyone would find out.

Communicating with the Force isn't so difficult though. It's about the strength of a bond. I can sense my padawan's presence even from afar. I've even projected myself to him, though it takes a lot out of you.

We can start there, then. Or at least test it. If it works, then we can coordinate all the Jedi actions if we need to. It'd be like you and your apprentice are two paired comm units.

Have you never used the Force like that?

I was never too good with the mental things in the Force. Mind tricks, telepathy, all that. They just weren't something I could ever get the hang of.

Seriously? That's basics, Cal. Did your Master really not prioritize that?

Some people can specialize in different things, from what I understand. You have your generalist Jedi and your special ones. I ended up being one that's pretty strong in one area and weak in another. Not to mention that I was told that psychometry was an incredibly rare ability so I probably had to balance out in another area.

Forget me and my padawan - I'm training you next time we meet up. Specialist or not, there are some things you have to know.

I appreciate the thought but I'm pretty sure its not about whether I have proper instruction or not. You'd probably have just as much success teaching someone who isn't Force sensitive, if you understand my meaning.

You mind if I give you an example though it might be painful to hear?

When the clones turned against the Jedi, my master knew. I could see the pain on his face as he felt everyone die. I was only 14 but I should have felt something. Yet my only question was why did the trooper behind my master point his blaster at him. It's like there's a block there, I just don't experience these things. I don't know if slamming my head against it will make it open up.

I think you aren't giving yourself enough credit.

When it began, I didn't feel anything either. My Master and I were on a mission off world. Suddenly she grabbed my arm and... and I saw it. I saw the Clones killing the Jedi, everywhere, through our connection. And then the ones we were with turned their guns on us.

[ he breathes in, the weight of it still heavy on his chest. it doesn't bring him pain anymore, but it's never pleasant to recount. ]

But that's why they were Masters. So connected to the Force, they could sense even death through it.

Like I said, I don't know. I should have asked Cere but that's something I'll have to do later. I always thought we had it bad but she had it much worse.

[ he doesn't recognize her name, but then again he changed his name almost immediately. the empire had records of everyone in the temple after all. ]

She managed to escape with her padawan. But the Empire tracked her down and captured them both. The Empire....they tortured her padawan right in front of her. Twisted her mind. Made her an Inquisitor. I can't imagine how that must of felt to see that happen.

Cere rescued me from Bracca and became something of a mentor for me, if you were wondering.

[ his hands twist into themselves at that. the monsters. the image of maul and ezra together flashes in him and he has to remember to breathe. ]

I'm sorry for her loss. If I had to take a guess... mentoring you was her way of trying to make up for what happened.

No...it was what we were doing that was her attempting to make up for it. Kanan....we found a holocron. One that showed the location of every Force sensitive baby in the galaxy.

[ kanan doesn't respond right away, tight air sucked in and held as those words dawn over him. force sensitive children. he wonders for a moment if ezra was listed on it. ]

...impossible? It was made by Jedi Master Eno Cordova. He was doing research of an ancient civilization and that ancient technology made him see a vision that caused him create the holocron.

[blindrun]

[ he doesn't comprehend a lot of that. not because it doesn't make sense, but because the thought of a holocron storing all that information is blowing his mind. ]

I don't believe it. [ he mutters stupidly and low, a hand going through his beard as he does. ] Have you located any of the children on it yet? Have you confirmed the information?
